The Euro
The eight Euro circulation coins have common European sides and country-specific national sides. According to special agreements there also national sides of the Euro coins of Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican which are not member states of the European Union. The Euro coins are valid throughout the euro area.
The motives of the common sides show variations of the map of Europe. They also show six straight lines, 12 stars are superimposed on these lines, one just before the two ends of each line and the face value. The common sides of the coins were designed by the Belgian Luc Luycx.
All Austrian Euro coins are produced by the Austrian Mint.
